What does it mean to be a follower of Christ?

Step 1: Receive Christ.

Righteousness is a gift! In the book of Romans it says “…if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved.” It’s that easy. When you receive Christ, you become a new creature. God is now your Father.

Step 2: The Father’s Promise.

In Acts 1:4-6 Jesus commanded his followers to wait in Jerusalem for the Promise of the Father. What is this promise? In that same passage Jesus makes it clear: “…you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit…” You need help to walk in your new nature. The Holy Spirit is our helper!

Step 3: Read the Bible.

If you want to grow you have to eat! Jesus said we don’t live by bread alone but by every word that comes from the mouth of the God. The Bible is the Word of God. It’s our spiritual food. You can’t neglect your Bible and grow in Christ.

Step 4: Talk to God.

Getting to know someone requires conversation. Prayer is conversation with God, and it’s a two-lane road. God wants to hear from you, and He also wants to speak to you. Spend time pouring out your heart to Him and being quiet in His presence and listening.

Step 5: Talk About God.

1 Peter 3:15 tells us to always be ready to explain our hope in Christ. Share what God has done for you with people who don’t know Him. They need to hear the same good news you’ve received. Also connect with other Christians who want to talk about God. Running a race is easier with good running partners.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding;

In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

Proverbs 3: 5-6

“The Peasel’s have a great work ethic. They accomplish every assignment and task in excellence. You can trust them with your life.
